There's something about a strong and soulful female vocal. When done right she can rattle your bones and make you wanna kiss or slap somebody. Or both. That being said the Alabama Shakes are a band to watch out for in 2012. This Athens band brings back elements of southern rock and roll with the powerful bluesy vocals of Brittany Howard. I have a feeling they are going to get big. If you have a soul then give them a listen.
